If you know the name Alpina, then you know that they’ve created a well-deserved reputation for themselves in making some of the most luxurious bespoke cars in the world. Now, the upfitter has taking the BMW D3 and turned it into a serious performance machine to go with all that luxury.
The BMW Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo has a top speed of 173 mph, does 0-62 mph in just 4.6 seconds, and achieves a whopping 53 mpg (European cycle). The tuned engine in the D3 Bi-Turbo puts out a massive 350 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.

To achieve all of this, Alpina took two years of development and testing with the BMW 3-series, ultimately producing this refinement of the BMW Alpina D3. Enhancements to the engine, gearbox, cooling system, body structure, wheels, tires, aerodynamics package, suspension and more were done to propel the D3 forward towards becoming the world’s fastest production diesel.
Interior improvements, also a trademark of Alpina, were also important, of course. The BMW Alpina package start with hand-stitched, fine quality Lavalina leather and extend to other refinements such as electrically adjustable sport seats, Bi-Xenon headlamps, thick carpet overmats, etc.
On the outside, the BMW Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo has several aerodynamic enhancements, quad-exhaust with acoustic valve, Alpina-specific 19″ wheels, and a unique build number. Signature paintwork in Alpina Blue and Alpina Green is also available, as are hand-finished wood trims.
