Most of you know that I spend a fair amount of time washing and polishing cars for photographs and often carry rags and a small spray bottle for touch ups when out doing that. I’ve had a few wash rags and mitts.
I was offered these as a product test to review and was glad to take them. I’ve used them both for washing the car (soapy water and all) and for buffing out the inevitable water spots and the like. For the former they’re pretty good at the job, for the latter, they’re brilliant. I now keep at least one in my trunk bag for quick touch ups and buff outs. As a dry cleaner for shining windows and removing quick dust patches and such from the bodywork for photos, these can’t be beat.
These are sold for car washing – as in bucket and soapy water. I don’t do much of that, really, so have only used them once for that purpose. They were good at it, but a sponge generally works better. Where these mitts really shine is in the buff job afterwards. They don’t dry things off well (the mitts don’t soak up water), but they do buff out the spots very well. If you have a car you “spit shine” regularly or a show car you take to the car show and don’t want to scratch with old rags, these wash mitts are perfect.
