FIA Formula E Championship has unveiled the latest circuit layout, this one in Berlin for May 23, 2015. Called the Formula E DHL Berlin ePrix Circuit, sponsored by DHL, the layout is likely the best Formula E circuit to-date. This is what electric F1 racing circuits need to look like.
The map includes 17 turns and a total of 24.7 kilometers and is designed within the Apron section of the Tempelhof Airport at city center. This will be the spot for the eighth race in Formula E this year and the track was designed by Rodrigo Nunes.
Speaking about the circuit layout, Nick Heidfeld, one of the drivers in Formula E, said: “It’s going to be very special racing in front of my home crowd and I’m really looking forward to it. It will be the first time for me racing on somewhere like this so should have its own special atmosphere. It looks like it’s going to be a very twisty and challenging circuit with 17 turns in under 2.5km and I think the fans are going to have great visibility wherever they are. When I spoke to some friends recently they were all interested in coming to Berlin and I hope there will be a lot of other fans who will come and join us for the race.”
