The Chrysler Group LLC, based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, has officially changed its name to FCA US LLC. This is effective immediately and follows the announcement made a few months ago about the global name change Fiat and Chrysler made to create Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
We speculated about this change and whether consumers would see it as too soon, giving it a negative impact on the brands under the Chrysler name. Since Chrysler has been largely foreign-owned for most of its modern history, though, the negativity is probably not going to be all that deep.
