Mercedes-AMG Project One Prototype Being Tested

The Mercedes-AMG Project One show car, which was presented last year, has been undergoing intense testing to ready it for the Formula 1 circuit and series production. The hybrid technology was originally designed for F1 racing and is now being readied for commercial sales in Mercedes-Benz and AMG production vehicles.

“Hundreds of testing hours have already been spent to master the immense challenge of making the high-performance drive unit ready for series production: the whole powertrain including all hybrid components underwent the toughest race track tests on the high-performance dyno tests of HPP’s engine specialists in Brixworth.”

Mercedes says that because of their distinctive sound, the test vehicles are difficult to hide from the public as the prototypes are tested in the United Kingdom.
