A friend came to me and said that while on a three week working vacation in Australia, he was amazed to find out that you can rent motorcycles there at day, week, month, and even seasonal rates. I was surprised to hear that, though I know that occasional motorcycle rentals are available in the U.S. as well (though they aren’t usually cheap to insure).
My friend, whose name is Robert, found a company to hire motorbike Perth. The rates were reasonable and it was far cheaper on gas and cost than was renting a car and it allowed easy parking and door-to-door travel without complicated, multi-lingual mass transit. I’ve since found out that this is also popular in Europe.
Even on shorter vacations, bike tours on motorcycles are also popular and usually involve renting or bringing your own bike. These are an especially popular idea in Australia, where open country rides are plentiful. Most motorcycle rental places in Australia offer insurance and can guide you through the licensing process, if needed. Yes, for those visiting from outside of the country, International Driving Permits allowing motorcycle use are issued.
As for the motorcycles available, enduro-style on/off-road motorcycles for adventure riding and street bikes are all available. Brands from BMW to Harley Davidson are represented in most motorbike rental fleets.
So the next time you go on a European or Australian vacation, do like my friend Robert and see if you can’t rent a motorcycle for convenience and fun! Pretty cool idea.
