Our last interview with GreenTech Automotive (GTA) showed how Paul Ritchie was bringing an incredible amount of automotive experience to this new electric vehicle (EV) maker. Now GTA is starting phase two of its manufacturing plant, thus bringing its fully electric GTA G2 Sedan a little closer.
If you recall from our previous interview with Paul Ritchie, Paul comes from the automobile industry with an accent on racing. Paul impressed me a lot when he was at the now defunct CODA Automotive maker. He previous experience will help Greentech Automotive establish itself in the US as a serious player in the electric vehicle industry. GTA is headed by Founder and Chief Executive Officer Charles Wang.
What’s special about GTA?
- A new locally designed and manufactured electric car
- An affordable and available NEV
Press Release:
GreenTech Automotive Begins Erecting Steel Structure for Tunica, Miss., Electric-Vehicle Production Plant
Phase 2 of construction continues on schedule for GTA’s primary manufacturing facility
(January 8, 2014) Tunica, Miss. — GreenTech Automotive (GTA), a U.S. automotive manufacturer dedicated to developing and producing environmentally friendly, energy-efficient vehicles, announced today that workers have begun erecting steel support structures for its new production facility in Tunica, Miss.
“GTA’s permanent manufacturing home in Tunica has been taking shape on the ground level for several months now, and we’re looking forward to seeing the structure itself rise up in the coming weeks,” said Charles Wang, chairman and CEO of GTA. “As GTA continues to make significant progress toward our engineering, production and hiring goals, we’re eager to move into the new facility when construction is complete this spring.”
Structural steel work began January 6 and will continue through mid-February. Exterior walls will go up beginning in early February. Forcum Lannom Contractors LLC is overseeing the construction. GTA expects the entire exterior structure, including walls and roof, will be completed by the middle of March, allowing for the company to begin moving its production capability into the new facility.
GTA currently operates a pilot manufacturing facility in Horn Lake, Mississippi, where it builds MyCar, a two-seat Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV), and GTA’s new four door, All-Electric Sedan. Both vehicles produce zero emissions, provide segment leading range per charge and can be recharged via a common 110V wall outlet, a 220V wall outlet or fast charging stations.
