Jacek Mazur, a 48 year old amateur mechanic, is no ordinary Top Gear fan. In honor of his favorite TV show he decided to build a McLaren F1 replica from spare parts.
It was quite the challenge but Mazur was able to get it done for about $32,500. That is about 250 times cheaper than what McLaren F1’s go for in auctions nowadays. (They typically go for $8 million dollars.)
He even paid tribute to Top Gear co-host Richard Hammond by installing a small rear seat for him. Jacek Mazur has completed other home built car projects, including a Lamborghini and a Porsche 911. The McLaren F1 replica, however, has been his crowning homemade car achievement.
