Super Rare 1938 Talbot-Lago T150 C Lago Speciale Teardrop Coupe Going to Auction

This one-of-a-kind car is the only Figoni et Falaschi Teardrop Coupe built on the T150 C Lago Speciale chassis.

A super-rare 1938 Talbot-Lago T150 C Lago Speciale Teardrop Coupe, one of the most beautiful cars ever designed, is heading to auction. Broad Arrow Auctions and Hagerty have announced that the car will be auctioned on consignment at the upcoming Hagerty Motorlux in Monterey.

This one-of-a-kind car is the only Figoni et Falaschi Teardrop Coupe built on the T150 C Lago Speciale chassis. The bodywork was specially ordered as specified by its original buyer, Antoine Schumann. Schumann was a banker and race driver who purchased this car to replace a Bugatti Type 50. This car was a class winner at the 1948 Belgian Grand Prix, the 24 Hours of Spa, and has been owned by several prominent French collectors.

The Talbot-Lago underwent thorough restoration by RM Auto Restorations in a ground-up endeavor. The body was refinished in a deep luminous black and the original tobacco leather was restored, as was the original wood trim. Virtually all of the car’s body panels and trim are original to it. The car has most recently been kept as a functioning museum piece here in the United States.

Broad Arrow Auctions expects the Talbot-Lago T150 C Lago Speciale Teardrop Coupe to sell for $6,500,000 or more. Studio photography courtesy of Ted7/Alex Sims, outdoor photography courtesy of Robin Adams.
