Surely you have a lot of options, if you think and dream up, but we just remind you of such a charm as Aurus, a new Russian automaker that hopes to compete against Bentley and RollsRoyce. Recently, he announced the start of production of the Senat, a huge limousine that we discovered at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

This model is not aimed at the general public but is a luxury car that costs $ 245,000 (more than 201,000 euros) in its basic version. Therefore, only executives and millionaires can afford it. They are manufactured at the Russian Yelabuga Sollers plant, which Ford used to assemble.

Specifications

Under the hood of the Aurus Senat is a Vshaped turbocharged eightcylinder petrol unit. In parallel with it, an auxiliary electric motor operates, powered by a separate highvoltage battery. In total, thanks to two turbochargers, this tandem generates 598 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 880 Nm of torque in the range from 2200 to 4750 crankshaft revolutions per minute. A nineband classic hydromechanical automatic is used as a transmission. The full drive is connected with an electromechanical clutch that transfers part of the torque to the wheels of the front axle

As a result, the sedan is able to accelerate to the first hundred in just 4.7 seconds and has an electronic speed limiter at around 250 kilometers per hour. Fuel consumption in the city will be 17.1 liters of gasoline per hundred kilometers, 10.6 liters on the highway, and 13 liters in the combined cycle.

Assembled Models Will Not Be Sold on the Russian Market

Aurus boss Adil Shirinov admitted that 7080% of the assembled models will not be sold on the Russian market. These cars will go first to the Middle East and North Africa, and then to China and Western Europe.

This year between 200 and 300 units will be produced, but the Russian Industry and Trade Minister expects the manufacturer to be able to assemble up to 5,000 vehicles a year in 2024 and 2025. In addition, Aurus plans to launch two more models in the coming years, including SUV, of which you have all the information in the following two links.
