As gas prices continue to rise, more and more families are choosing hybrid cars to lessen their fuel budget (and save the environment while doing it!). Hybrid cars were once the pinnacle of technology and hard to find, but today major manufacturers like BMW, Porsche, Honda, Toyota, and more are making more hybrid cars. Let’s look at some of the best hybrid cars of 2019.
2019 Honda Insight
Car and Driver Magazine recently reviewed the 2019 Honda Insight and said that “Honda isn’t choosing to spotlight only its hybrid pedigree and EPA fuel-economy ratings—which are as high as 52 mpg combined” but that instead they call the Insight “a quiet, comfortable, very well-equipped sedan that happens to carry some eye-popping efficiency numbers.” This is the perfect hybrid for an individual or family that wants those great MPGs without having to drop a pretty penny. The Insight starts at $22,830, making it an affordable 2019 hybrid.
2019 Porsche Cayenne E- Hybrid
You can have both luxury and practicality, and the new 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid proves it. The luxury SUV solidifies its place in the lineup with its significant advancements over both the standard Cayenne and the preceding Cayenne S E-Hybrid. Those advantages include more power, faster acceleration, a faster top speed, and increased electric-only range. Want a hybrid without sacrificing power? The Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid uses the same three-liter mono-turbo V6 as the Cayenne, but significantly increases total horsepower and torque by integrating an electric motor. The Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid starts at about $80,000.
2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid
The Ford Fusion got a facelift with the 2019 hybrid model, and it’s smarter and sleeker than ever. Not only will buyers enjoy its 42 combined MPG (43 city, 41 highway), but they’ll also enjoy a modernized look, new colors, and new, advanced safety features. Ford has just released its CoPilot 360 System, which includes emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, a rearview camera, and auto high-beams. All of these features come standard on the new model.
2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid
Fuel efficiency is totally cool again, and the Toyota Camry Hybrid doesn’t care who knows it! The popular sedan underwent a complete redesign in 2018 so the 2019 model won’t be majorly different, but now’s the time to snatch up one of these hybrid favorites. There’s nothing not to love about this sleek, angular sedan that includes a 7-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker audio system, 16-inch steel wheels, and much more. Toyota has been a leader in the hybrid industry for a while, and the Camry shows that that’s still the case.
2019 Ram 1500 Hybrid
No one ever said that hybrid technology has to be saved for sedans and SUVs! If you’re more of the truck type, the Ram 1500 is the hybrid for you. The half-ton pickup promises better fuel economy, shiny new technology, more power and torque, and more storage. The truck starts at $31,695 and is priced to compete against other half-ton pickups and half-ton pickup hybrids. Comfort, technology, and storage send this truck right to the top of our hybrid list.
Hybrids are getting sleeker, faster, more powerful, and more economic and 2019 is bringing some amazing choices. What hybrid will you be driving this year?
