Our friends at NOLA Motorsports Park and the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association sent us notice that this coming weekend is the inaugural Mardi Gras in October Vintage Racing and Classic Car Show in Avondale, Louisiana. Starting on Friday, October 9th, the event features a parade of over 60 classic and vintage cars driving around town to the event that evening.
Saturday begins a classic car show at the NOLA Motorsports Park, which runs all day. That night, a Mardi Gras party with fireworks will commence to ring in the year.
The best part? This is a rolling car show. So during the car show itself, all day Saturday, there will be races on the NOLA track featuring classics and vintage cars in endurance and sprints as part of the SVRA sponsorship. Sunday will have a 100-mile feature race for endurance championships in the Trans-Am series.
