Honda Adds Recall for Takata Airbags for More Civic and Accord Models

Honda is adding another 1.39 million vehicles to its recall list as the fallout from the faulty Takata airbags continues to affect the company. Although several automakers have been affected by the recalls, Honda has taken the brunt of the storm as recall numbers mount.

This new recall affects 2001-2005 Honda Civic models and 2003-2007 Honda Accord models for passenger front airbags. Many of these vehicles would have already been subjected to recall for the driver’s airbag. Honda says about 915,000 of these vehicles are already subject to recall under the previous announcement made at the end of May.

Vehicle owners affected by the recall will be contacted via the U.S. mail in the next 60 days. Replacement parts to facilitate the work is already being distributed to dealerships nationally.
