Lately my CarNewsCafe colleagues and I have been getting a large number of requests to write about LameCar… oh I mean Nascar. I’m unsure why this is exactly but it mainly seems to be from Public Relation firms that have no interest in actually promoting the Nascar team or the Nascar driver that hired them and they are contacting us about. A lot of the times the emails are automated bulk messages, or PR Spam, which annoys the hell out of the entire team here.
Whether the messages were personally sent to one of us and are legitimate or automated PR spam emails it honestly does not really matter. While we do have a Racing category here that we actively post articles to, let me make this clear, we DO NOT write about Nascar. We have ZERO interest in it and we assume most of our readers do not have any interest either.
There are plenty of other sites that can waste internet resources to cover this “racing” but we just will not spend time on it. We are are a growing car news site that has limited time to write about topics we actually care about and are interested in. If this bothers you for some reason please go read another news magazine.
Out of all of us I seem to be getting the most requests for stories on Nascar. I assume this might have to do with the fact that Nascar is trying to do the whole “Drive for Diversity” BS and trying to attract minorities. Please, that’s never going to happen. Let me make this clear, minorities HATE Nascar and always will. I personally don’t like any activity that wrecks brain cells when people watch it.
Do we have any exceptions to this no writing about Nascar rule? Actually we do. If a Nascar driver murders someone while driving on a racetrack and does not take full responsibility for it, we definitely will cover it. You know, like what Tony Stewart killing Kevin Ward.
So basically there it is. CarNewsCafe does not cover Nascar. That is… unless one of you drivers makes a colossal F$@-up and it’s great for our traffic. 🙂
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Let us know your thoughts.
