Fans of the Ford F-150 are getting a chance to test the newest 2015 Ford F 150 before anyone else thanks to a contest Ford ran on their website.
This is the first of of 4 videos in what the company is calling the “You Test” series which will show these customers brutally testing the 2015 Ford F-150. These lucky truck fans were chose out of 15,000 submissions, in which entrants described how they would test the toughness of the new F-150 pickup in their daily lives and jobs.
“The videos show real-world testing beyond testing already conducted by Ford engineers. This is what matters most – serving our customers.” said Doug Scott, Ford Truck Group marketing manager.

Ford just started production of it’s new trucks after delays in production due to Aluminum problems. Some believe Ford is gambling using Aluminum on these new trucks. Still, F-150’s will be going on sale soon for customers and fans of the F-150 trucks.
UPDATE: The Ford plant in Dearborn, Michigan has shutdown temporarily to switch equipment and tooling to for the Aluminum parts and components on the new 2015 Ford F-150. Production will not begin until mid-October according to a Ford PR representative I spoke with. Production of the Ford Mustang started recently at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan.
Each winner received a 2015 F-150 Lariat 4×4 that was equipped with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine so they could test and drive the new Ford truck.
The first video shows Brian Schober who has a tough job in Yuma, Arizona. He works as a systems engineer for military vehicle testing so you know that his own vehicle needs to be tough as well. Schober decided to run the 2015 F-150 through a series of off-road tests in the Arizona desert, which are mostly for the military vehicles he tests.
“I work at the U.S. Army proving grounds where I drive approximately 350 miles a day on gravel and dirt roads, hauling parts and people. I’ve gone through my fair share of vehicles,” said Schober. “We currently rent a 2013 F-150 and consider it a workhorse. With a new F-150 on my radar for my next vehicle, the 2015 looks like it will do the trick.”
The F-150’s wen through hell in 36 straight hours navigating a rugged 10-mile loop that includes rock crawls, sand washes and suspension challenges in triple-digit temperatures.
Videos of the three other winners testing the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 will be posted by Ford in the next few weeks. These other videos will showcase the Ford truck hauling boulders in Oregon, towing bales of hay in Montana, and transporting supplies more than 900 miles on primarily gravel roads from Fairbanks, Alaska, to Inuvik in the Northwest Territories in Canada.
