The week’s news was full of Tesla, but we try to look past that and see some other stuff too. First stop? Walmart. The boys talk Tesla, Walmart, disappointing politicians in Jersey, and look at the great new Subaru Outback.
We start with Tesla because, well, that’s where all the news buzz seems to be this week. Even mainstream auto news sites couldn’t ignore it this time. We get right into the whole NADA attempt to blockade Tesla’s direct sales model. And a few things related to the latest Teslarati buzz.
From there, to change gears (so to speak), we talk about Walmart and their futuristic truck concept. Good idea or just conceptual hype?
That takes us to hybrids, where we consider the stunning BMW plug-in i8. Which is a nice segway into the latest from Formula E – a disappointing track layout for the Beijing series.
That, of course, gives us no way to segue into airbag deployment or the 2014 Subaru Outback, so we don’t even try to pretend there’s a transition and just jump in like frat boys at a pool party.
