The Ford Mustang turns fifty this year and on April 16-20, people from all over the world will gather simultaneously at two spots in the U.S. to celebrate the car’s birthday. From car cruises to live bands to ride-and-drives and more, the events will be held concurrently in Las Vegas, Nevada and Charlotte, North Carolina.

Anyone can attend these events, both being held from April 16-20. In Las Vegas, things will congregate at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and in Charlotte, they’ll happen at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The events are co-sponsored by Ford Motor Company and the Mustang Club of America.

“Even though the Ford Mustang has not traditionally been offered globally, the passion for the first pony car is truly international,” said Ronald D. Bramlett, Mustang Club of America, executive director of the Mustang 50th Birthday Celebration. “Enthusiasts from across the globe are planning to attend and share their personal Mustang stories. Some are even shipping their Mustang to the United States to drive their car as part of the milestone event.”

With more than nine million Mustangs being sold since they first appeared fifty years ago, they are noted as one of the most popular cars of all time. The 2015 Mustang will be the first globally-sold car, though the American icon has been sold, smuggled, and built in other places throughout its history.
