It’s not too often you hear about a race motorcycle coming onto the market. Ted Rich’s race electric Zero Motorcycle is on the auction block right now.
I don’t know about you, but collectible vehicles and spotting them out before they become out of reach is a passion of mine. Maybe this stems from the very traumatic experience of having heard the story how my father passed up the opportunity to acquire a Mercedes Silver Arrow racer in the sixties. After all, who would want a beat up and used old race car? Do yourself a favor and see how much one costs today.
Electric Motorcycle Instant Collectible
If you followed electric motorcycle racing last year, then Ted’s bike will look familiar. The orange tiger stripe bike showed up at 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the North American FIM eRoadRacing Series at Laguna Seca and Indianapolis. Those are serious credentials and Ted’s 2013 Zero S Electric Motorcycle is up for grabs on eBay here.
Why is this important?
If you listened to our podcast, you would know.
Is it expensive? That depends on what you will do with it and how long you intend on keeping it. I feel it is a bargain.
In the meantime, we are happy to see electric racers going into the wilderness. Terry Hershner has done a tremendous job riding his ex-racer 2012 Zero Motorcycle, now all over the country. Who’s next?
