Nissan released this video about the building and construction of the brand new NISMO (Nissan International Motorsports) headquarters.
Since NISMO is Nissan’s performance division the wanted to tap the right designer. I think Nissan did with Daisuke Yasuhara, who designed the new NISMO headquarters and was featured in the video. “There was a lot of pressure on design.” he commented. The design inspiration for the building came from the Katana, the traditional Japanese sword used by Samurais. I think the building looks pretty “sharp”, which I assume is what Daisuke Yasuhara wanted. NISMO president Shoicha Miyntani was also featured in the video.
